Chi Thien is "Me Hoac" by some girl!

Chi Thien has been on the down-low lately and we haven't heard much from him.  He released a few songs this year but nothing big.  Chi Thien is now ending this year with a fresh MV called "Me Hoac" (I like the name :p)


One of the songs that Chi Thien released recently has a super duper long title..are you ready for it??? it's called "Hay Noi Yeu Thoi, Dung Noi Yeu Mai Mai".  That's like 2 titles in one song ^^ It's a pretty good song, however it didn't create a hype among the fans and it's probably because this song was already sung by Mr.Siro awhile back.

1) Bao Tran
Le Hoang Bao Tran was born in 1998 and is now the most promising teen model.  Bao Tran's modeling career took off after winning the gold title in Teen Model 2009.  At the age of 13, she's already 1m72 (5'64)! what an incredible height for a young girl right?  Bao Tran appeared on the cover of many famous magazinse, she is also a catwalk expert.  She is not only famous in Vietnam but also in other foreign countries.

Bang Kieu's Fanmeet Was Dispersed by Local Officials

Yesterday, Bang Kieu had a get-together with his fans in HaNoi along with his lovely wife Trizzie Phuong Trinh.  This event was planned in prior to Bang Kieu's family arriving in Ha Noi.

A Craziest-Coolest Thing about Vietnam

Hi guys!

I'm actually studying for my finals right now but I thought I'd share this with you guys.

For those of you who have been to Vietnam before, you should be able to relate to this right?  I was dead scared to go out when I first went back to Vietnam, but after awhile, I loved being on the motorbike! It was one of the best experiences I had there.  Watching this makes me miss Vietnam :( Anyways, that's all I have for now.  Good luck to those who have finals! <3

Supermodel Ha Anh might be familiar to some people who followed Vietnam's Next Top Model last season because she was one of the judges.  She is one of the most established and successful model in Vietnam.  Ha Anh started modeling in the UK in 2006 and had won many awards and represented many famous international brands, some including Gucci, DKNY, Chloe, Toni and Guys., etc.

Dang Khoa Idol placed 2nd in SNSD's "The Boys" Competition

Have you guys heard "The Boys" by SNSD?  I'm not a Kpop fan but I've heard this song as well as their other songs (my roommate is a big Kpop fan) Anyways, I do think that this song is very catchy, although them singing in English just kinda ruined the song because their pronunciation is not so good (referring to the English version).  Dang Khoa Idol recently did a cover of this song for a competition hosted by SM Town and placed 2nd in the competition.

The Discovery of New Bands #1: P.S.S (UPDATED)

Lately there has been quite a number of new bands with different styles and sounds added to the Viet music industry.  Therefore we decided to do a series of "The Discovery of New Bands" and each time we will showcase a new band :)

We will start with P.S.S Band aka Personality, Style, Sexy 

The Discovery of New Singers: # 1 Vu Thanh Hang (Hang Bing Boong)

As some of you might remember from our previous post, the reality TV show calls "House of Dreams", or "Sang Bung Suc Song" was aired in the summer of 2011 and has received a lot of positive support and feedbacks. The show attracted many young and talented female singers around the country and my favorite contestant has always been Vu Thanh Hang, or Hang Bing Boong! She is such a cute, petite but has probably the strongest and most well-trained voice on the show! Even though for some super odd reasons, she was not selected to be a part of the X5 band...we are not here to focus on the odd reasons but to celebrate her success as an amazing solo artist!

A Heartwarming Voice From Vietnam's Got Talent-Vu Song Vu

It always excites me to see new, young talents in the Viet music industry.  When I said young, I'm talking about our new talent Vu Song Vu-discovered through Vietnam's Got Talent 2011.  As you already know, the Got Talent series first started in Britain and it had spread to many other countries--and now Vietnam (YAY!)

Y Thanh--->Choreographer Turns Singer

If you have seen "Sang Bung Suc Song" or "House of Dreams" then you probably already know who Y Thanh is.  Y Thanh was one of the judges on the show and he was my favorite one!

When I first landed on this article, I was a little skeptical thinking "hmm they probably don't look that much alike!" BUT I almost jumped out of my chair when I saw the pictures...they can literally be mistaken as one another! Take a look :) All so pretty!

So, seems like Miss Teen 2011 has been going on for a week now and not only they have discovered some of the most pretty, fun, bubbly, and bright contestants, the audiences were wowed with 3 hot girls that look like they could be Hoang Thuy Linh, Thu Thuy, and Tam Tit's twins!

Yesterday a short clip of the engagement ceremony of Thuy Tien and her soccer star boyfriend Cong Vinh was leaked and shared quickly all over the internet.

Dong Nhi Is In Bed With Ong Cao Thang!! Wait..Just In Her New MV..Pheww!!

Not too long ago, we covered/confirmed the rumor that Dong Nhi and Ong Cao Thang are dating and we also mentioned that Ong Cao Thang is also featured in Dong Nhi's newest song "Co Nhung Yeu Thuong Nao".

The MV was recently released and fans are a bit iffy with some of the romantic scenes in the video.

What Is Stopping Vpop To Be As Big As Kpop????!

For a very long time, I keep questioning why Vpop can't be as big and popular as Kpop? It's obvious that Kpop is taking over the music industry in Asia, and many young Vietnamese audiences  idolize Kpop groups over Vpop groups (SNSD, Big Bang, 2PM, KARA, T-ARA, etc.)  Well, what about the new Viet groups?  (365, V.Music, X5, La Thang, etc.)  What is it that they're missing?  What will it take for them to get Viet teens' attention?  I'm sure I'm not the only one who is pondering upon this topic.

Last week I ran across an article that talks about this topic and I would like to share some of the points they addressed which may/may not answer the questions being raised above. 

New MV Mot The Gioi by the X5 Girls, Chi Thien, Thanh Bui, Nathan Lee and various of Vpop artists! Worth watching!

The X5 Girls had another great opportunity to record a song & shoot a music video with so many other talented Vietnamese Pop Artists such as Ha Okio, Thanh Bui, Đoan Trang, Hà Anh Tuấn, MC Phan Anh, Tùng Dương, BTV Mỹ Linh, Tú Vi, Nguyễn Phạm Thùy Trang, V-music, Hòa Mi, Chí Thiện, Nathan Lee, Quốc Thiên, Thảo Trang, MC Nguyên Khang, NS Dương Cầm, Cẩm Tú, Adam Band and Nguyen Linh

I was so excited to see this collaboration among these singers because the final product is excellent with the powerfully heart-moving song, amazing voices, and beautiful images of Vietnam & people moving towards going green & saving the earth! Go GREEN!

The HOT, YOUNG, and TALENTED couple Van Mai Huong & Le Hieu

Despite the denying, both Van Mai Huong and Le Hieu can't escape the evidences that prove the two are dating! There are more and more evidences that their relationship is not merely a brother-sister relationship.  Rumors about the two dating actually only started a month ago when tons of pictures of the two were captured. They deny by saying they are only hanging out a lot because both are from Ha Noi. 

The fans suspected the relationship between Le Hieu and Hot Girl Dan Cha awhile ago as the two were hanging out together a lot often. See picture below. Even though some pictures of Le Hieu and hot girl Dan Cha were captured, but obviously, they weren't enough to portray any sort of romantic relationship between the two.

The New-Old Face In The Vpop World-Anna Truong! Wait..Who??

Yep, just as the title suggested, we have a new but old face in the Viet music Industry--Anna Truong.

 

Doesn't she remind you of someone? Perhaps someone who is a very famous Viet singer??  Yup, you've guessed it! She is My Linh's daughter!  For those who are fans of My Linh, you probably know or heard of Anna.  

What Happens When The Most Popular Idol...Isn't So Popular Anymore?

Vietnam's Idol 2011 Uyen Linh had disappeared for awhile after the show ended, everyone has been wondering what she's been up to with her life.

Thu Thuy's Big Come Back "Rieng Minh Toi"

I have been anxiously waiting for Thu Thuy's "Rieng Minh Toi" MV after seeing the cool trailer.  It was finally released today and I couldn't wait to show you guys ^^ From what I know, Thu Thuy flew all the way to Ha Noi to work on this song with song writer Luu Thien Huong.  She is a very dedicated singer and she only wants to release her best works.  Here is the video, enjoy! :)

I really like this video, especially her makeup.  She does look a bit scary but this look is very unique.  I noticed that she lost weight but overall I think she looks very pretty in here.  Although I do like the video, I gotta say that I'm not very impressed with the song.  It's not catchy enough for me.  Plus I think Thu Thuy only sounds good in those pop ballad songs, leave this type of music to Hoang Thuy Linh ^^

Is Ho Ngoc Ha's "Invincible" Convincable?

As mentioned sometime last week, Ho Ngoc Ha has a new MV out and it was officially released on October 17, 2011.  Some of you might have seen it on Youtube already, and if you haven't, here's the MV:

 

What was your first impression after seeing this MV? Honestly, after all the hype from the MV promotion, I had higher expectation. I mean, the graphic is great and all and Ho Ngoc Ha looks stunning even though she's an alien.  However; the storyline just didn't make much sense to me, and maybe it's not supposed to make sense?  Maybe it was just supposed to be a "cool" video with awesome high-tech graphics?  If that was the purpose, then yes, Ho Ngoc Ha had successfully done that since there aren't that many MVs such as this one in the Viet Pop Industry.  

I know Ho Ngoc Ha is a great dancer and she does practice very hard on her dancing, but I just thought the choreography for this song in this MV in particular is not very appealing to me.  Thought they (HNH & Hoang Thong Dance Team) did a better job in the choreography on stage.

Vietnam's First Homosexuality Movie "Hot Boy Loi Loan"

       The most anticipated movie of the year "Hot Boy Loi Loan" directed by Ho Ngoc Dang was finally released on October 14, 2011.  This movie is Vietnam's first movie about homosexuality and prostitution- two very sensitive topics.  The movie plays around two stories:
       The first one is of the overbearing love story about two boys: Khoa (Ho Vinh Khoa) and Lam (Luong Manh Hai).  The second story is about the heartbreaking life story of a prostitute, Hong (Phuong Thanh) and Cuoi the mute guy (Hieu Hien).  Although the two stories are quite different, but they both portray how society view people of those two categories (Homosexual and prostitute).

This movie portrays two very sensitive topics in our society and it has touched many viewers on many different levels.  Not only that, this movie also has many "hot scenes" which attracted many people.  Critics rated this movie very high and many celebs also praise this movie.  I cannot wait to watch it!  The trailer looks good!
